As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided, wherever possible, with a DOI number.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • I have obtained any necessary permissions from the copyright holder for the inclusion of any third-party material, including images, in the text.
  • References have been formnatted in accordance with the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation, 9th Edition (McGill 9th edition Citation Style).
  • We are accepting 4,000-8,000 words papers (footnotes included) in English or French. In particular cases slightly longer or shorter contributions are also going to be considered, after the decision of the Editorial Board.
  • The papers need to be preceeded by a 250-350 words abstract and between three and five keywords, which are not included in the general word count.
  • The papers should be sumitted in the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation, 9th Edition (McGill 9th edition Citation Style) with one small difference: wherever possible, at the end of a footnote there should be a DOI number of the paper/publication in question closed in <>. Kindly also include a blibiography at the end of the paper.
  • All papers will be submitted to double peer review.
